Planning for a Boudoir photo and/or Video shoot is where a shoot goes form good to great. The outfit you choose is a big part of it so lets get into a guide on what to choose to look and feel your best in-front of the camera!

#1 Bodysuits

If you don't know what to wear start with a body suit! its reliable and flattering for any shoot. It'll keep you supported whilst hugging your natural curves whilst lengthening your legs, making for an all round perfect piece for boudoir photos and videos.

Tip: High cut hips, sheer mesh panels, V-necks and open back laced bodysuits are perfect. Not only making you look great but also reducing any adjustments needed whilst shooting which makes shooting video so much easier!

#2 Sheers and robes

As my Boudoir style is mostly cinematic videos and photos my favourite clothing item to make for stunning clips is by using layered clothing that catches movement.

Sheer lace and silk robes over lingerie makes for an item that you can play with and use to tease and subtly reveal your main outfit. You can let the silk slowly drop off your shoulder, blow in the wind or with a fan, you can make move and sway with your body. Making for captivating videos that grab all the attention.

#3 Lingerie sets that make a statement

The Classic Boudoir two piece matching lingerie set is a must have. Nothing beats that timeless look that captivates all of your stunning features.

Everyone goes with a nice black set but I honestly believe the best images are created with an Emerald Green, deep reds or a light blue set with pops of coloured details. This for me speaks more to your personality and the colour and style you choose will convey that to your desired viewers.

Don't forget whites and nude sets as well, sometimes the most risqué thing you can do is leave nothing to the imagination!

#4 Oversized and styled clothing for a Girl next door or Diva look

Not every Boudoir shoot has to be lingerie and can very much be more casual, stylistic, relaxing or editorialised. I've seen some amazing boudoir photos of full on body makeup, leather suits and tight jeans that are just as stunning as a two piece lingerie set. Cropped Sweater or just plain silk sheets are also incredibly gorgeous and intimate.

Just never forget the power of a cute hoodie, bed hair and short shorts.

#5 Accessories!

Every outfit can be made that much better with the right accessories, Start with heels, get into the jewellery, stockings, suspenders and maybe even a whip.

I personally thing the two main to consider is

1. layered Jewllery which is a great way to catch light and make for amazing videos

2. Stockings and suspenders are perfect for adding additional texture where needed and helps complete a lot of these looks.

And to wrap it all up I have some quick tips!

1. Variety, bring a little more than you need but not too much to get overwhelmed. you want to give yourself options to pick what works best in the environment and light we use!

2. Try not to wear anything tight and elastic beforehand, these clothing items will leave marks on your skin and can leave undesired marks on your body whilst shooting. We want the moment to moment photos to be the closest if not the final look we use to make sure we not only capture you beautifully but as your authentic and natural self.

3. Make sure no matter what you never compromise on what you bring to a shoot, choose what makes you feel powerful, comfortable and risqué!

Hope this helps get you started towards your next shoot, and who knows I might see you on my next shoot to make some amazing images!

Stay Risqué!
